Natural and absolutely unique: every woman’s aspiration to beauty comes to life in the new Flamboyance Diva S/S 2012 collection signed by Davines Artistic Director, Angelo Seminara. A daily splendor drawing inspiration from the great style icons from the past, without falling into any of the Hollywood clichés, but grasping all their refinement, revisited in simple, contemporary and easy-to-wear looks.

Flamboyance Diva is dedicated to women who are committed to living their daily challenges with the desire to feel special without looking artificial, who enhance their uniqueness in a simple and spontaneous way, thanks to choices of styles in harmony with their essence.  Women who stand out with a charisma that goes beyond fashions: the character of Lauren, a medium-long haircut proposed in three styling versions ranging from wavy to pluckily curly; the essentiality of Audrey, a daring extra-short cut with tidy or untidy up-styled fringe; the sensuality of Brigitte, a profusion of free-falling hair or up-styles gather with apparent carelessness; the liveliness of Marylin, medium-length waves, sometimes more defined, soft or vibrating.
Touches of style that give rise to images of great intensity, built on light and organic shapes combined with fresh and feminine nuances, enhanced by the neutral tones of garments and the graphic impact of make-up, with strongly marked magnetic eyes and soft, natural looking lips.

The secret of this new application of Flamboyance is the sense of natural refinement interpreted in warm tone on tone nuances (light copper, peach, tobacco, sand, honey ) that celebrates an easy-chic woman, focusing once again on the revolutionary Flamboyage colour service.

Cool pixie cuts are holding strong as one of the most popular cuts of the season. Looking for a way to amp it up? TIGI European Creative Director Nick Irwin suggests creating movement in the style by giving it tons of texture. Start by applying TIGI Bed Head Candy Fixations Totally Baked Mousse to dry hair. Blow dry the hair completely with a hair dryer and work through with your fingers to create a multi-textured finish. Through the ends only, work through with your dryer and a round brush. Finally, work Candy Fixations Mega Whip (about the size of a half dollar) through the dry hair. Grab your hair dryer once more and, on a cooler setting, blast the hair to create more dimension and texture. Detail the look with your fingers to give it a perfect finishing touch. One thing we absolutely love about award season is seeing what trends are gracing the red carpet, and we couldn’t help but notice how stunning Parks and Recreations star Aubrey Plaza looked with her 1940s-inspired waves. Hairstylist David Gardner was responsible for creating her old Hollywood, glamourous look. Inspired by her gorgeous dress and Golden Era starlets like Marlene Dietrich and Carole Lombard, David first applied styling mousse to her damp hair. He then dried her hair most of the way using his fingers, then switched to a round brush at the top and sides of her hair to add volume and to keep it smooth around her face for a more contemporary feel. Once the hair was completely dry, he curled sections in tight corkscrews on a 1-inch iron from root to the tip, leaving the ends straight. Once all the hair was curled and completely cooled, he raked his fingers through to break up the curls. He then styled the front over her eye and applied a shine-enhancing hairspray to lock in the look and keep the hair looking radiant and reflective throughout the evening. Get more Emmy how-tos!

Trends come and go and change on a regular basis, especially when it comes to hairstyles. Take the bob, for example. Hair pros claim that this season, the A-line bob is definitely on the way out as fans of Victoria Beckham’s once insanely popular cut have waned. But don’t fret, because a new version of the bob has taken its place—the Box bob! While the A-line version has a severe angle running short-to-long from the nape to the sides, the box version is (you guessed it!) boxier, with a design line that’s the same from back to front. It has no angle and runs parallel to the floor for a clean, classic “Louise Brooks” shape. The key to this cut is a clean, shiny finish so prep towel-dried hair with Macadamia Healing Oil Spray then blow-dry with a Denman brush following the shape of the head for a smooth, sleek finish. Finish with another mist of Healing Oil Spray. Get a FREE Sample of Macadamia Oil!

We could’ve sworn we heard Donna Summer playing while we watched Sunday night’s Grammy Awards. We spotted a 1970s flair in lots of the hair looks—like on Miranda Lambert, Hillary Scott and Lea Michele—and it’s no surprise since fashion is seeing a strong 70s influence resurging in a big way for spring. We asked our Pureology PureArtist BFFs Natasha Sunshine, April Webster, Darren Pena and Sandra Joseph for the scoop on this 70s hair revival. “From soft waves and curls to long, hippie-length hair to simple ponytails, great hair rocked the red carpet,” they said. To achieve Miranda’s cool 1970s waves, they suggest spraying a heat styler like Pureology ColourStylist FortifyingHeatSpray in damp hair, then drying completely. Next, twist varying-sized square sections down the length of an iron then secure with single prong clips to cool. Remove the clips and work a pea-sized amount of hair polish through your hands and break up the curls with your fingertips. Finish with hairspray and you’re Grammy ready! Check out more 70s-inspired Grammy hair trends!

Spring must be on the way! Stars rocked a little seasonal color inspiration at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, opting for high-impact, bold lip colors. Claire Danes, who snagged a trophy that night, punctuated her dark Louis Vuitton dress with a stunning, hot pink pout (possibly a signature look for her). Amber Riley kicked her look up a notch in a bright, flirty fuchsia shade while her Glee costar Jenna Ushkowitz chose a shimmering bright magenta to offset her peach Badgley Mischka gown. Jenna’s makeup artist Patrick de Fontbrune said he first used Lucas Papaw Ointment to moisturize her pout then he lined and filled the entire lip with MAC lip pencil in Redd. He completed her bold, bright lip with MAC Dare to Wear lip-gloss in “Bold and Brash.” Love this? Now check out Olivia Wilde’s makeup from the Golden Globes!
