Think there are no glamorous styling options for your short-haired clients? Think again! For the Golden Globes, Marcus Francis of the Wall Group styled starlet Evan Rachel Wood’s crop into an artfully sculpted, classic Hollywood ‘do with just the right amount of edge, turning her into a bonafide red carpet hottie. To create her look, he sprayed Phyto Phytovolume Actif from roots to ends on wet hair. Next, he blow-dried her hair away from her face, using his hands to work in the product and build thick, movable texture. For a little more hold, he cocktailed the Phyto spray with Living Proof Full Thickening Mousse and applied it to the entire head, blow-drying with a ½-inch round bristle brush. Using a ¾-inch curling iron, Marcus wrapped medium-size sections on the top of the head to set in the volume, creating a little bend at the ends. He then brushed back the top and molded the shape, connecting hair at the sides and back while keeping the volume in the front. He applied Davines Glossy Modeling Putty to his fingers and raked back the sides of the hair and added polish to the back, pinching horizontal sections with the putty to add texture and tighten the sides. Marcus then finished the ‘do with Oribe Superfine Hair Spray. Get 11 more how-tos from the Golden Globes!

At the LA premiere of her new flick New Year’s Eve, Hilary Swank looked beautiful in a glittering blue gown and cascading curls. Her hairstyle, created by Robert Vetica, celebrity stylist and Moroccanoil Global Brand Ambassador, was glamorous, sexy and spirited—everything we look for in a New Year’s Eve look. Create the look by prepping damp hair with Moroccanoil Treatment then create a deep side part and dry in large sections. Use a ¾-inch curling iron on the hair behind the ear. In the back, take larger sections and direct the curl down, making sure not to spiral the hair on the barrel. Continue around to the other side behind the ear. At the top of the part, take 2½-inch sections and curl in the opposite direction. Pin these sections along the front hairline and spray with Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray. Allow the spray to sit for a bit then release the pins and brush out. Pull the hair on the parted side back and to the side and pin in place with bobby pins and a hair comb. Work Moroccanoil Hydrating Styling Cream into the remaining hair with your fingers to frame it around the face then finish with more hairspray. View this entire step-by-step!

TIGI Catwalk was all over the place at Spring Fashion Week, and the TIGI team created tons of inspiring looks. One in particular—a style they whipped up at Maisonette 1977—is a chic, feminine option for the holidays. “The look represents a romantic, European lady with hair that’s loose, undone and pretty,” says DJ Riggs. To create this style on your clients, start by spraying hair at the crown with Your Highness Firm Hold Hairspray to provide thickness and texture, then blow dry. Next, brush the top section back and create a twist in the center of the head to prep the section for loose waves. Separate the hair into layers and spray with Session Series Work It Hairspray, then French braid the hair toward the crown. The braid starts out smaller and tighter, then gets chunkier and looser in the middle, and then becomes tight at the bottom again, giving it a fishtail effect. To finish, spray the braid with Session Series Transforming Dry Shampoo for a messier, natural look, then blow dry the braid so it “swells.” Learn the Exaggerated Ponytail how-to from TIGI Catwalk.

The nickname VOLU is the abbreviation for “VOLUME” chosen to make instantly recognizable the line’s feature which consists of giving extra volume at all stages of treatment – from cleansing to styling – relying on the exclusive active principles contained in natural origin ingredients in innovative combinations.

From the successful combination of scientific evolution, artisan wisdom and passion for natural resources, 3 synergetic products were born: shampoo, conditioner and leave-in spray, for the daily care and profound beauty of the hair.

      VOLU/SHAMPOO  Volume Enhancing Softening Shampoo

Gentle cleansing fluid that makes hair softer and fuller, shiny and hydrated.

Containing hop extract, it has a stimulating and revitalising action on the hair scalp therefore  enhancing the volume on the roots. It also helps to untangle hair with great lightness.

      VOLU/CONDITIONER  Volume Enhancing Softening Conditioner

Formulated with hazelnut extract, with a strong invigorating effect and antioxidant power,  it simultaneously gives softness, shine and volume to the hair revitalising it with new strength.

      VOLU/Mist Volume Boosting Moisturising Mist

Leave-in specific spray to give extra volume to the hair starting from the roots,  leaving it moisturised and restored. Comb through to lengths and ends to add long-lasting body to the hair.

    •    Turn the Volume Upside-Down

Posted by behindthechair.com - Daily Dose » Trend Watch on 05.16.11 0 comments

From Catwalk by TIGI’s Young Royals collection, this style turns volume upside-down! Create some mad majestic volume of your own by working Catwalk by TIGI Your Highness Thickening Gel Crème into the roots and midlengths. Blast dry with your fingers. Next, create a low side part and start a hot roller set at the front of the head. Using medium-sized rollers and relatively large sections, spray with Your Highness Hairspray and roll forward and to the left. On the other side of the head, work the same way, placing the rollers in a circular pattern. The key to this look is flatness on the top with volume and width at the ends, so instead of rolling straight to the root, clip each roller at the midlengths. Only roll the bottom sections all the way up. Switch to smaller rollers in the back for a stronger curl. Spray all the rollers with hairspray and allow to cool, then brush out the hair section-by-section. Brush the hair out and away from itself to create width. As you work towards the front, create a cleaner finish by brushing the hair closer to the head without separating the hair.
